Client Services: Project Manager Small Projects

AMS Mechanical Systems, Inc. is a 50 year Mechanical contracting firm serving the commercial, industrial, refrigeration and nuclear industries (PMT).

During its 50 year existence, AMS has grown from a small refrigeration contractor with a few employees to a multi-discipline and multi-market MEP contractor with more than 500 employees. This growth combined with our diversification, the increased utilization of technology and fabrication has brought many new challenges to our workflow and operating processes.

Corporate Objective:

As part of our long term strategic plan and strong vision for the future we have decided that it is in our best interest to hire a Client Manager. The Client Manger will report to the General Manager (Ron Sage).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Estimate & Manage mechanical and full turn-key projects of varying sizes.
  • Manage internal project accounting requirements, prepare routine financial updates.
  • Manage and establish growth through existing AMS clients which will be provided as well as pursuit of new and perspective clients.
  • Participation in general marketing through associations, affiliations and personal contacts.  AMS encourages networking from time to time, which requires attendance at functions that occur after hours and weekends.
  • Assist and complement the administration and support services of the department to achieve maximum quality, efficiencies and optimum growth, as well as corporate profitability.
  • Assistance in collections of A/R when it has become problematic and unresolved through our support staff.  You are provided with an assistant that will perform pre-collection calls, however, it is your responsibility to work with your assistant to make sure your accounts are being collected in a timely fashion and step in when your involvement becomes necessary.
  • You will be required to provide a turn-key operation and business relationship from  point of contact with the customer, inclusive of the following:
    • Proper survey of project, site and/or equipment.
    • Discuss overall solutions and design modifications with the customer related  to all plumbing needs and requirements.
    • Estimating of all service related work (i.e.; maintenance, retrofit projects, new installations, T&M work)
    • Preparation and submission of all proposals.
    • Strategizing with management for best presentation and opportunity.
    • Follow-up to customer.
    • Project development and implementation with the assistance of the Project Engineer/Project Coordinator.
    • Project billings.
    • Project close-out issues.
    • Warranty issues.
    • 100% accountability for Customer Satisfaction and Experience.  This will be best served by working with our support staff and field staff in tandem to create this experience.
