Ammonia Client Manager

Executive Overview:

AMS Mechanical Systems, Inc. is a 50 year Mechanical contracting firm serving the commercial, industrial, refrigeration and nuclear industries (PMT).

During its 50 year existence, AMS has grown from a small refrigeration contractor with a few employees to a multi-discipline and multi-market MEP contractor with more than 500 employees. This growth combined with our diversification, the increased utilization of technology and fabrication has brought many new challenges to our workflow and operating process’s.

Corporate Objective:

As part of our long term strategic plan and strong vision for the future we have decided that it is in our best interest to hire a Client Manager. The Client Manger will report to the General Manager (Ron Sage).

Responsibilities:

  • Focus area will be Industrial Refrigeration, Chicagoland area.
  • Management and growth of existing customer relationships.
  • Development of new customer relationships and opportunities.
  • Industrial Refrigeration Service (Ammonia, Freon and CO2) experiences a plus.
  • Proposal development & document management.
  • Estimating of Preventive Maintenance opportunities and small to medium scale retrofit projects.
  • Project Management of Preventive Maintenance accounts and small projects.
  • Inner company business development; working along with all other business development groups.
  • Participation in industry functions.

Requirements:

  • Current or previous work experience as a Sales Engineer, Project Manager within the industrial refrigeration industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the industrial refrigeration industry and how it impacts food processing, bottling, baking, warehousing and other industries associated with the production, storage, packaging, and distribution of food products.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and phone skills.
  • Possess estimating and sales capabilities, which are necessary for proposals, closing deals, and customer retention.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and internet use.
  • Sophisticated networker and a member of (or willingness to join) applicable industry associations.

HVAC/R Service Coordinator

The below outlines the general responsibilities for the above referenced position.

1. Interface with Client Managers to review client service/project needs
2. Interface with Construction and Refrigeration PMs to review startup schedules and staffing needs
3. Interface with Client Service PMs to review project service technician needs
4. Interface with Procurement team to schedule technicians once needed parts have been confirmed delivered
5. Interface with Service Manager daily to review:
o Project folders
o Startup requirements
o Labor blending
o PMA schedules
o Service call back log
6. Schedule all HVAC & Refrigeration technicians for repairs, PM, startup and project work
7. Schedule all service, PM and project work with clients
8. Manage technician on call schedule and provide on call updates to the answering service and appropriate AMS team members
9. Provide daily tech schedules to appropriate AMS team members
10. Respond to client call in for needed routine and emergency service
11. Process T&M job requests/close out
12. Meet with appropriate AMS staff to review client concerns
13. Manage the client survey process
14. Process timecards and service tickets for all HVAC & Refrigeration service technicians
15. Manage electronic dispatching, work order and PM systems
16. Run labor, PM, service, etc reports as required
17. Distribute service tickets to Procurement team for costing and to Inside Sales for follow up on noted additional work requirements
18. Monitor PMA to ensure
o Labor forecasts are up to date/distributed
o PM work is scheduled and competed timely
19. Track client call backs and review weekly with service manager
20. Review daily answering service reports and discuss details with necessary team members to ensure client follow up
21. Keep tech skills assessment spreadsheet updated
22. Assist Service Manager with new Technician onboarding process
23. Provide back up for Plumbing Service Coordinators as needed
24. Other duties as assigned
